METZELER EXPERTS ON THE ROAD 2007 - DAY 2
Cap d'Agde - Marseille
After leaving the hotel we follow the Mediterranean coast road, past the oyster-farms around Sète, until we reach the area of the Camargue.
The roads become straight and narrow, and the quality of the tarmac deteriorates, but the view of the countryside is our reward.
Travelling across the marshes at the mouths of the Rhone, at one point we have to take a boat to get across one of the watercourses. Looking around us we can see bulls, pink flamingos and horses of the famous Camargue breed.
We stop at Saintes Maries de la Mer for lunch, and then it is back in the saddle following signs to Marseille.
The last stretch to get to the airport is on the city bypass.
